EYES ON THE PRIZE
So you think that Lady Luck/Providence/Fate/Insert Your Own Term is going prance over to you and dump a load of good luck and money into your lap?
That’s one dump you’re going to be waiting a long time for.
The world owes you nothing.
If you want to achieve anything, you better roll up your sleeves and start working for it.
Because that is the only way you are going to get it.
Even back in first century Rome, that philosopher dude called Seneca acknowledged this with “Luck is the crossroads where opportunity and preparation meet.” (Oprah just took his version and made it shorter cause she wanted to be cool – Seneca didn’t have ratings to meet.)
Achievement is never easy.
Even fabled “overnight success” is usually years in the making.
So rest assured, if the great Thomas Edison wryly admitted “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” YOU won’t be getting it easy.
So, learn to listen instead of simply hearing.
Learn to see instead of simply looking.
Learn from the mistakes of others because learning from your own is just too expensive.
Learn from everything you do – failures are still stepping stones to success, if you know how to implement them.
And above all, never, ever quit on your dreams.
R.U. Harby and his uncle gave up and stopped three feet away from millions of dollars worth in gold.
So close, yet so far.
Open your eyes, your ears and most of all, your heart.
And give it all you got.
It’s the only way to truly rock your little hearts out!
