This is one girl’s amazing journey into becoming the best she could be.
WHAT DREAMS MAY COME
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BELIEVE
Around year ago, a young lady walked into The Forge.
Or perhaps I should say crept into The Forge.
She was so shaken by what she thought she was going to experience, she couldn’t even talk without her voice trembling.
And she just barely made it through her first workout.
It’s true – this young lady was once so terrified of being in a gym, she was actually sick on the first day.
That’s how badly she scared herself (because, obviously, there was no bogeyman hiding under the weight rack)
(OK, not counting myself, but I wasn’t under the weight rack anyway – I only sleep there at night.)
Nevertheless, despite her initial fears, she came back.
And back again.
And back again.
And it got a little bit better every time.
We fought her fears together until we laid them all to rest.
One demon at a time.
Now, just look at her a year or so down the line – leg pressing her way to being a total badass with 6 plates.
That’s 6 plates…each side.
Oh, and they are 25kg plates, not the regular 20kg ones.
Damn!!
I am seriously so proud of her I can’t walk without hopping around when I look at this pic!
It’s not even the weight that gets me.
Don’t get me wrong – she is not only pushing some serious poundages here…she is also repping them to hell and back.
So the weight is noteworthy.
But the weight is secondary.
I really couldn’t care less about it.
It is only the means to an end.
A tool in our journey.
An obstacle to be obliterated.
No, what I am really proud about is the fact that we were able to conquer her fears and keep plugging at it.
One day at a time.
THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU JUST CAN’T TAKE IT
It’s so easy to give up – especially when the chips are down.
You know, some days it seems like you just can’t cut it.
Those days when it all seems against you.
We all have those days.
But that’s really the time where we can make a difference.
Where we can bunch up our fists and hit back.
Where we can become stronger.
And that’s what we did.
We made time – it was never found.
We beat the weather – rain or shine.
We conquered moods and mood swings – we were in charge.
We looked at Fear in the face – and scared it away.
We dealt with self-doubt, lack of confidence, self-esteem issues and emotional turmoil.
When it came at us, we stood up tall – and destroyed it.
Of course, we had our share of slip-ups.
That happens too.
You can’t succeed without your fair share of falls, of pains, of moments of doubt, and even despair.
But, you keep getting back up to your feet.
You give yourself no choice.
It’s how victories are made.
Never letting go, never giving up.
One thing at a time.
Good days, bad days – we just killed them dead, one by one.
KEEP PUTTING ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER
And this is the way it’s done.
It’s normal people, doing amazing things.
Just because they believe they can.
All we do is walk with our clients all the way.
Making sure they find us when they need us.
And help them believe in who they are and what they can do.
Way to go, champ!
Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your incredible journey.
PS: Trust me, there is way more coming where that came from.
