THAT MAKES SOME PEOPLE ABSOLUTELY ORGASMIC
Have you ever heard someone state something that made you scratch your head and wonder how the hell they manage to actually survive day to day?
Even after all these years, I still hear seemingly normal human being say things that make me blink in awe.
Not in amazement at their profoundness, but rather, at their crassness.
Look, I promise I’m all for helping as many people as I can but some folks just make me feel like I’m the Jackass Whisperer.
Seriously, dammit, sometimes these people just pop out of their holes and fry your brain with just one line.
“I’ve been training about one and a half years and I don’t need any coaching – I’m really good!”
“No that’s not good for me.” “Have you ever tried it?” “No!”
“We’ll wait and see. It might fix itself!”
“I can’t do this!” “OK, what have you tried so far?” “Nothing!”
Social media is certainly a factor in all of this.
Granted, it doesn’t cause ignorance, but it is definitely the perfect medium for propagating it.
I see all these “quotes” and nuggets of “wisdom” being bandied about by people who wouldn’t know a wise old man if he crept up behind them and bit them in the buttocks with his dentures.
Then you have all these trolls hiding behind their screens and wearing their super capes (or maybe it’s their Mom’s towel).
That’s not to mention all the righteous brothers and sisters pointing their fingers with the hand that doesn’t know what the other hand is up to.
Along the years, I have developed a healthy respect for what Mark Twain once quipped:
“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”
It’s true – sometimes, getting some people to see the error of their ways is just an exercise in utter humpin’ desperation.
But I guess that is what constitutes the spice of life.
Sometimes, what you really need to do is get a good laugh out of it, let go, and walk on.
One thing is certain – you are never going to run short of Jackasses.
So, to all of you that believe that life is all about getting better every day and who are ready to pay their dues – I salute you.
To the rest – thank you for the entertainment.
Keep rockin’!
